We are certified by Visit England's Good To Go Covid-19 certification and following the best practices including; following government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, have an extensive Risk Assessment in place and a thorough process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.
What will happen when I first arrive?
Due to the ongoing pandemic it is now compulsory at the Black Horse Beamish for guests to wear face coverings on arrival/exit when not seated. This to ensure the safety of all staff and customers.
We understand that some customers have exemptions from wearing face masks due to health conditions or hidden disabilities and we ask guests to wear a mask only if you can.
Please follow directional signage, we are using only one entrance to the restaurant via the back entrance. You will be greeted at our outdoor host stand located at the back of the premises next to the car park and clearly marked, from there our host team member will ask if you would like food or drinks only and you will be asked for personal details for track and tracing purposes (this is mandatory from government guidance). Guests will be directed to their table from here.
To comply with the law, all table reservations must be eithe upto 6 guests from two household. Or split onto different tables within the restaurant. This is subject to availability.
What are our hand sanitising procedures?
We are promoting extensive hand hygiene for our customers with fixed hand sanitisers points available throughout our restaurant, toilets and grounds. You will also be expected to sanitise hands on arrival at our host stand.
What can you expect within the restaurant?
The restaurant will feature floor markings which are visible by the signage throughout and our restaurant will run at a reduced capacity to keep in line with 2 meter social distancing. Orders and delivery of food will be made at your table ensuring a safe distance between our team members and customers. Tables of up to 6 guests only within the restaurant with table service only for both food and drinks. Your allotted table time is 1 hour and 30 minutes or 2 hours for tables of 6 or more.
What are we doing to look after our team so they can look after you?
Our team are trained with our new health, hygiene and social distancing procedures to keep both the team and customers safe. All team members will be wearing PPE and can include visors, masks, apron and gloves.
Each team member is assigned specific areas and duties to give the very best service and experience possible whilst keeping safe.

What are our cleaning and monitoring procedures?
We have introduced enhanced health and hygiene measures in addition to our usual high standards including frequently sanitising all items you may touch and We are continuing with our normal practice of cleaning tables, crockery, glassware and other tableware after each use.
Toilets will be monitored at all times by a member of staff to manage occupancy and avoid overcrowding. Toilets will be cleaned every 15 minutes by the cleaning team.

Friday - Saturday 12:00pm-9pm

What will our menu’s be like?
Our full restaurant menu will be on offer to our restaurant diners and our brand new garden menu for those sitting outdoors.

We can only accept bookings for tables of either 6 guests or two households. (Six people from six different households are allowed to meet outside. Alternatively, two households who potentially together total more than six people, will also be allowed to meet).
Your allotted table time is 1 hour and 30 minutes or 2 hours for tables of 6 guests or more.
Please note when booking that not all of our outdoor dining tables are sheltered from the weather.
