  • "We had a small intimate wedding, it was all we could have wished for and more. All of the staff but in particular the wedding coordinator went above and beyond to make sure we did not lift a finger on the day and everything was exactly as we asked. The views over the valley are absolutely stunning for outdoor photographs and because the grounds are so large it is easy to find a quiet space to enjoy your first moments as a married couple. I stayed the night before with a bridesmaid and then evening of the wedding with my husband rather than having to repack and move everything staff changed the room arrangements so I could be in the same room and arranged breakfast to our room the next morning. I could not recommend the black horse more highly!”

  • "We had our wedding on 31.12.2025 in the Orchard Marquee and stayed for two nights with our bridal party, with many of our guests also staying on the night of the wedding. I can honestly say I can’t fault this place. I was a little apprehensive going into the day due to a few teething problems in the lead-up, but those worries completely disappeared. Everything was perfect — we couldn’t have asked for more. The food was outstanding. The chef was absolutely incredible (apologies that I can’t remember his name), and the amount of compliments we’ve received from our guests has been phenomenal. Some even said it was the best beef they’ve ever had. The customer service was fantastic , the rooms were beautiful, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Sophie, our wedding planner, was amazing and really went above and beyond to ensure the day ran as smoothly as possible. The venue itself is stunning, especially if you love countryside views — our photos with the valley in the background are absolutely insane. The sun even decided to shine across the valley just as we said I do! We are so pleased we chose to book our wedding at The Black Horse. It truly was the most amazing day of our lives , and that is very much down to the incredible staff who made it so special. Thank you so much, Mr & Mrs Davis"
